Omega High

Elk

Ready for the Ascent

Beginning the Omega journey, Elk students engage in literature, writing, mathematics, science, health, and career exploration designed to encourage growth. Through thoughtful study, deeper writing, scientific discovery, and mathematics guided by student readiness, Elk students prepare for the climb ahead.

English Language Arts: Elk students study literature through books, vocabulary, comprehension, thematic exploration, and extended writing. Through discussion, thoughtful reading, and multi-page essays, students strengthen literary understanding while exploring the themes, ideas, and human experiences found within great stories.
Math: Because Elk marks the beginning of Omega High, mathematics places strong emphasis on algebra development and student readiness. Algebra becomes an increasingly important focus through the Omega years, helping students build the foundation needed for future mathematics, problem solving, and higher-level learning.
Science: Elk students investigate animal science through semester studies of land animals and flying creatures, including birds and insects. Through scientific observation, exploration, and connected learning, students discover the remarkable variety, behavior, and design found within the living world.
Social Studies: Elk students study health and career exploration through semester courses designed to encourage wellness, self-awareness, and future preparation. Through practical learning, students examine healthy living, career pathways, personal interests, and the skills needed for life beyond the classroom.
Foreign Language: Spanish language study introduces ELK students to communication, culture, and practical language skills designed to support both personal growth and global understanding. Through meaningful practice and guided learning, students begin building a foundation for future language study.
Technology / Microsoft Office: Elk students develop practical computer skills through Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Through meaningful projects and applied learning, students strengthen digital literacy, communication, organization, and skills that support both academic and future career success.
